See your Sungrow inverter on your iPhone

Download on the App StoreCenit isn't made by or affiliated with Sungrow. It's an independent app that reads your plant through Sungrow's official API with your own login, and keeps what it reads on your phone. You don't make an account with me.
What you need
Your iSolarCloud account and password, the username or the email you sign in to the app with. Your installer often set it up, so ask them if you don't have it.
Your account has to be on iSolarCloud's international server, the one for the Americas, Asia and Africa. Accounts from Europe or Australia can't connect yet.
Your plant has to show up in iSolarCloud already. If there's no data there, Cenit won't see any either.
How to connect it
- Download Cenit and open it. You can look around with example data first if you like.
- Tap Connect my inverter and pick Sungrow from the list.
- Type your iSolarCloud account or email and your password, and tap Connect.
- If your login has several plants, Cenit asks which one to open. The rest are under Plants.
- That's it. Cenit pulls in the total for each day of roughly the last year.
Does it say iSolarCloud couldn't find your account on its international server? Check that it's spelled right.
What you see from your Sungrow
What the panels save you
Tell it what you pay per kWh and what you get for power you send to the grid, and it works out about how much the panels saved you this month and this year, in your own currency. In the US it can fill in your state's average price. In Mexico you get your margin before CFE's DAC tariff instead.
What it's making now and today
The watts right now and today's kWh, the same numbers Sungrow shows. Sungrow updates its data about every five minutes, and while the app is open Cenit reads it every ten. That keeps Cenit inside the number of requests Sungrow allows it.
Today's curve
Sungrow's API doesn't give the curve for the current day, so Cenit builds it from its own readings. The more you open the app, the fuller it gets. The day's total comes straight from Sungrow and is always right.
Your history
The total for each day of roughly the last year, kept on your phone and laid out month by month.
Widgets and alerts
Today's numbers on your home screen. Turn on alerts and you get a heads-up when the inverter stops reporting while the sun is up. With the app closed, Cenit checks every two hours.
What you don't see
Sungrow reports the total for the whole plant, not each panel. Cenit can tell you production dropped, but not which panel. With a hybrid inverter from the SH series, you don't see your battery's charge or what your house uses either.
Cenit and iSolarCloud
iSolarCloud is Sungrow's own app, and some things only happen there. Cenit doesn't replace it for those.
What you still use iSolarCloud for
Setting up the communication module's Wi-Fi, adding equipment to your account, checking your battery, or changing inverter settings. Cenit only reads. It doesn't change anything on your equipment.
What Cenit adds
A simple screen for today, a savings number and widgets. Your history stays on your phone even when Sungrow's cloud doesn't answer. And if another home runs a different brand, it fits in the same app.
If you're an installer
If your iSolarCloud login sees your customers' plants, Cenit brings them all into Plants and tells you which ones stopped reporting. Cenit for installers.
What it costs
For your home, nothing. Cenit is free for up to 3 plants and has no ads.
If you're an installer watching more plants, you pay by how many, once or by the month. 4 to 10 plants is 9.99 USD once or 0.99 USD a month. 11 to 49 is 39.99 USD or 3.99 USD a month. 50 or more is 74.99 USD or 7.99 USD a month. Paying once is for good. The first time the app sees more than 3 plants, every plant is open for the first month.
Questions
Is there an app besides iSolarCloud to see my Sungrow inverter on iPhone?
Yes. Cenit signs in with your iSolarCloud account and password and shows what your plant is making, your history and your savings. It's free for a home.
iSolarCloud won't load or connect. Will Cenit help?
It depends on what's wrong. Cenit reads the same Sungrow cloud, so if their server is down it won't get new data either, but your history is still on your phone. If the inverter's communication module lost its Wi-Fi, no app will see new data until you reconnect it in iSolarCloud. If the app itself is slow or stuck, Cenit is another way to see your numbers.
Can I see each panel or my battery with Sungrow?
No. Sungrow reports the total for the whole plant, and Cenit doesn't read the battery on a hybrid inverter. For a panel-by-panel view you need microinverters like NEP, Hoymiles or APsystems.
Is it safe to give Cenit my iSolarCloud password?
Your password is kept in the iOS Keychain and only goes to Sungrow's server. Your readings stay on your phone, and you don't make an account with Cenit. The details are in the privacy policy.
Is Cenit made by Sungrow?
No. Cenit is an independent app by Hrvoje Matošić, made in Mexico, and isn't connected with Sungrow. Sungrow is one of the newest brands in Cenit, so if a number doesn't match iSolarCloud, write to me.
