See your NEP microinverters on iPhone

Download on the App StoreCenit signs in to NEP's cloud with your account and keeps what it reads on your phone. You don't make an account with me. Cenit isn't made by NEP and has no connection with NEP. It's an independent app, made in Mexico.
What you need
The email and password for your NEP Viewer account. It's the same account as the NEP Viewer app and nepviewer.net.
Your installer almost always made it the day they put the panels in, so you might not even know you have one. If you don't have it, ask your installer for the email and password. Your microinverters have to show up in NEP Viewer already, because that's where Cenit reads from.
How to connect
- Download Cenit and open it. If you like, look around with example data first.
- Pick NEP from the list of brands.
- Type your NEP Viewer email and password and tap Connect.
- Cenit finds your microinverters and panels and pulls down your history. If you have several microinverters on one site, it puts them together and numbers your panels in a row.
While the app is open it refreshes every five minutes. Your password is kept in the iOS Keychain and only goes to NEP's servers.
What it shows for NEP
Every panel, not just the total
NEP reports what each panel makes. Cenit shows how many watts each one is making right now and how much it has made today.
Dust, or one panel
If they all drop together, it's dust and time to wash them. If only one drops, it's that panel. Cenit compares clear days, so it needs a few days of data before it can tell you which.
Today against your best days
Drag your finger along today's curve to see what the panels were making at any hour. The dashed line is the most they made at that time over the last two weeks. A sunny day that comes in under it means something changed.
What the panels save you
Tell it what you pay per kWh and what you get for power sent to the grid, and it works out roughly what the panels saved you this month and this year, in your own currency. In Mexico you get your margin before CFE's DAC tariff instead.
Widgets and alerts
Today's numbers on your home screen, and a heads-up when a panel has been low for days or it's time to wash them.
Cenit and NEP Viewer
You don't have to pick one. Cenit reads from the same cloud as NEP Viewer, so you can keep both.
What Cenit gives you
The dust or failing panel alert, today's curve against your best days, the savings estimate, widgets, and your history kept on the phone.
What you still use NEP Viewer or your installer for
Cenit only reads. To add a device, change your site's settings, or deal with warranty and repairs, use NEP Viewer or call your installer. And if your NEP account holds several sites, like an installer's does, Cenit doesn't split them into a list yet. For now it's built for one home's account.

Is there another app for NEP microinverters on iPhone, besides NEP Viewer?
Yes, Cenit. You sign in with the same NEP Viewer account and see each panel, today against your best recent days, and what the panels save you. You can keep using NEP Viewer at the same time.
NEP Viewer won't load. Will Cenit work?
It depends on what's broken. Cenit reads from the same NEP servers. If it's the app that fails, Cenit can still read your system. If NEP's servers are down, Cenit gets no new readings either, but it still shows the history it saved on your phone and how long ago your system last reported.
My installer gave me a NEP Viewer account. Is that the one I need?
Yes, that's exactly the one. If you don't know the password, ask your installer. If Cenit says NEP didn't accept the email or password, check that they work in NEP Viewer first.
How much does it cost?
It's free for up to 3 plants, so a home never pays. Installers who watch more plants pay once or by the month, depending on how many they have. 4 to 10 plants is 9.99 USD once or 0.99 USD a month. 11 to 49 is 39.99 USD or 3.99 USD a month. 50 and up is 74.99 USD or 7.99 USD a month.
Is Cenit made by NEP?
No. Cenit is an independent app by Hrvoje Matošić, made in Mexico, and isn't affiliated with NEP. What it reads from NEP isn't officially documented, so if NEP changes something on their side, the connection can stop working for a while.
